MatchPoint · Intercompany

Agree intercompany before you eliminate it.

Most groups on NetSuite still agree intercompany balances in spreadsheets. MatchPoint shows every pair of companies side by side, explains the differences and gets both sides to sign off.

The intercompany matrix in MatchPoint: who owes whom across the group in group currency, with real differences flagged against FX-only ones.

The problem

Most groups on NetSuite still agree intercompany balances in spreadsheets — emailing figures back and forth until both sides roughly match, then finding the real differences at elimination.

In detail

What intercompany gives you.

What you get

  • The pair matrix

What each company says it's owed against what the other says it owes, in group currency at NetSuite's consolidation rates.

  • FX versus real

Each difference split into the part that's just exchange rates and the part someone needs to fix.

  • Found for you

Missing postings, wrong-company postings, timing differences and anything unassigned.

  • Both sides agree

Each company agrees or disputes its side, differences are explained with reasons, and a group approver signs the pair off.

  • Documents, grouped by what's wrong

Each company's lines shown side by side, and the ones that don't pair grouped by cause — amounts, timing, wrong counterparty, one-sided journals.

  • Health checks before close

Wrong-counterparty postings, foreign-currency balances nobody revalued, and unassigned amounts — flagged before you close.

  • Companies on other systems

Upload balances for companies that aren't on NetSuite.

03

Both sides sign off

Each company agrees or disputes its side, differences are explained with reasons, and a group approver signs the pair off.

Down to the document

When a difference is real, find the document behind it.

Open a pair to see each company’s lines side by side, with how every line was matched to a counterparty. The documents that don’t pair are grouped by what’s actually wrong, so you triage by cause instead of hunting line by line.

Amounts differ

The same document, booked at different values on each side.

Timing

One side has posted it; the other hasn't yet.

Wrong counterparty

Posted against the wrong company's “due to” account.

One-sided journal

A journal on one side with nothing to match on the other.

Missing on the other side

A document that only exists on one company's books.

Nothing dropped

Catch what breaks a close before it does.

Lines on an intercompany account that no account or rule places with a counterparty are never dropped. Tag one to a company with a reason and it joins the pair at once — and the tag stays in MatchPoint, never written back to NetSuite. If the line later changes, the tag is flagged as no longer fitting.

A read-only Health page flags the things that go wrong at elimination — postings against the wrong company, foreign-currency balances nobody revalued, and unassigned amounts — so you fix them before close, not after.

Built for multi-entity groups

Every pair breaks down by the kind of balance it holds — each side in its own currency, and the group currency at NetSuite’s consolidation rates — so you can see whether a gap is in trade, a loan or interest, not just a single net figure.
